Tasters found two wines outstanding.
The single vineyard white port, although unseasonable at this time, showed extraordinary quality at a very reasonable price.
The one non-port of the tasting, the 2002 Mas Blanc Banyuls Collection, showed a wonderful maturity and savory spice everyone loved. We sold out at the tasting, and the importer has no more, but we will have the equally good 2000 vintage in about two weeks at the same price. Don't miss it.
The rest of the wines were good examples of their types. The 2011 Graham's Port, although powerful, showed young and unexpressive. We had not decanted it ahead.
We will have it and all the others from last week available to try, along with tonight's wines. They should show at least it's good and probably better in the case of the Graham's.
