Distinctive BBQ Wines and a Special Pinot
The 2016 Cave Mont Blanc, Blanc was most purchased. People had not heard of it but found it intriguing; a soft and broad wine of moderate acidity and alcohol that would partner a variety of dishes.
August 28, 2019
People found the 2018 Reale Getis Rosato rather rich and nutty; more of a food companion then a wine for simple sipping.
The 2016 Saint Cosme Crozes Hermitage started off rather tight enclosed but even new tasters could appreciate that it was a wine of substance albeit reserved. Towards the end of the tasting it had begun to bloom into a rich, centered and age-worthy wine. Some people loved it. We have only six bottles left.
The other wines were less mentioned. Tuscan fans thought that the 2015 Rocca di Castagnoli Chianti Classico: was a classic example of its type and very, very satisfactory. The 2016 Feudo Montoni Perricone del Core had an exotic fruit character that people found very interesting. We have about a case and a half left. The 2015 Marietta Cabernet Sauvignon Arme showed softer and much more agreeable than my notes below from a few months ago.

2016 Elk Cove Pike Road Pinot Noir Fairsing Vineyard
Wine Advocate -" Ripe red and dark berry, baking spice and vanilla aromas, along with a smoky mineral nuance on the powerfully scented nose. Concentrated black raspberry, cherry cola and spicecake flavors show excellent clarity and become sweeter on the back half. Hangs on with strong tenacity on the dark-berry-driven finish, which is framed by fine-grained, slow-building tannins. (22% new French oak) " just three cases left
