Each wine had its fans;
. People who loved the Pet Nat for its light pure hot weather friendly refreshing fruit and crisp acid were less enthusiastic than others who valued richer, deeper Ch Thieuley and its moderate price.
The few for its balance and fruit-friendly forward fruit.
The Roco were extraordinary values. We still have a few cases of the Chardonnay. We were expecting the 2018 pinot noir but got mostly t2021. We showed both Early tasters like the smoothness of the 2018. Later tasters liked the more complex 2021 once it had aired. That is all we have left. It is an excellent value for the money and will be at my house too.
The Bandol Rose was robust and rich and grew in complexity as it opened throughout the tasting.
A charmingly pure Chenin Blanc fizz from Vouvray
Vignobles Feray Pet Nat
It is fermented naturally in the bottle, like champagne, but without any additives and is fizzy rather than fully sparkling. It comes from Chenin Blanc vines on a well-established Vouvray estate. Although dry, it is full of peach-inflected succulent fruit. With a mild fizz, it's a wonderful summer palette refresher.
