2020 Chateau Villemaurine, St. Emilion

Formerly underperforming Grand cru Classe, now realizing its potential

sports a very deep purple-black color, springing from the glass with vibrant notes of black cherry preserves, ripe black plums and wild blueberries, plus touches of Indian spices, menthol and cedar chest with a waft of fragrant earth. The medium to full-bodied palate is soft and juicy with a lively backbone to lift the seductive exotic spices to a nice long and harmonious finish. Outstanding“ Lisa Perotti-Brown Wine Advocate

a lovely bouquet of perfumed black cherries, blueberry and strawberry scents that burst from the glass; there’s real energy and depth here. The harmonious palate is medium-bodied, fleshy and ripe, with supple tannins, a silky mouthfeel and a precise finish that has just the right amount of sapidity. This is another excellent wine from a Saint-Émilion enjoying a strong run of form, Outstanding “Neal Martin, Vinous

" impressive. There is plenty of the textural richness readers have come to expect, but I also find quite a bit of energy in the 2020. Raspberry jam, mocha, espresso, spice, new leather and cedar all race across the palate. The interplay of plushness and energy is simply compelling. This is an especially fine vintage for Villemaurine. Outstanding" Antonio Galloni Vinous

2020 Chateau La Dominique, St. Emilion

The best in years from a Classic

“Lovely rich aromatic expression on the nose, so fragrant and full. Sleek and streamlined, a gorgeous texture, confident but charming, silky with a soft grip from the tannins but really well integrated with dark bramble fruits, liquorice and stone elements. It feels as if it's a little shy right now, not really giving its full expression but this stands out for the excellent acidity and purity of fruit. Well detailed and nuanced with toasted oak, tobacco and clove. Confident winemaking on show. Outstanding” Georgie Hindle, Decanter

“every bit as impressive as it was from barrel. Dark and sumptuous in the glass, the 2020 is racy and wonderfully sleek right out of the gate. Dark cherry, gravel, spice, dried flowers and espresso lend shades of darkness to this deep, wonderfully plush La Dominique. Superb. Exceptional “ -- Antonio Galloni, Vinous

“Wonderful delineation and precision on the nose, a melange of red and black fruit, cedar, graphite and subtle tobacco scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, energetic and tensile, with more complexity on the slightly creamy finish than you would have found a decade ago. This is surfeited with promise - one of the finest releases in recent years from an estate that's got its mojo back Outstanding”  -- Neal Martin Vinous

2020 Chateau Seraphine, Pomerol

In sie years Martin Krajewski has gotten a great reputation for the quality of this estate.

Our customers who tasted his 2018 purchased it for $259

“Inky purple in colour, clear concentration. Plenty of Pomerol polish and seduction in its quality of tannins and creamy texture of black cherry and damson fruits. A spiced black chocolate finish highlights exactly why Merlot on the soils of Pomerol takes on an expression that is hard to repeat elsewhere. Juicy finish also, good quality overall. 2026 – 2038 Highly Reccomended” Jane Anson, Decanter

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2020 Séraphine sashays out of the glass with gorgeous notes of candied violets, dark chocolate-covered cherries and raspberry preserves over a core of juicy black plums and fertile loam, plus a waft of truffles. The medium to full-bodied palate is packed with earth-laced muscular black fruits, supported by firm, ripe, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and mineral tinged. 2026 - 2047 Outstanding “Lisa Perrotti-Brown,  Wine Advocate
