Rich, dimensioned Sancerre
2021 Domaine Sautereau Sancerre Chene Marchand; Aroma: flinty dense, flinty dense full, fat, herbal, full; Mouth: bright, clean fruity, very ripe, nice acidity, firm, good weight, lightly lemony, subdued power and firmness; Excellent $50; Case, $35

Napa Syrah with mature Northern Rhone spice
2009 Byron Kosuge Syrah Hudson; Aroma: rather heady lifted, aromatic bacon, rather rich sweet, tapenade; Mouth: sweet, relatively dense, nicely focussed, dark, jammy fresh, secondary notes, fine tannins, low toned long; Excellent $45; Case, $38.
One of the best values in Barolo
2017 Luigi Oddero Barolo Convento Bright ruby fading to garnet rim. Expressive aromas and flavors of cherry, roses, orange zest, and spice. Excellent structure and bright acidity with a very long finish. Excellent $48, case $41

Jeff Leve “Smoked cherries, black, red, and blue fruits are out in front with no effort. There is richness, supple textures, and layers of creamy-textured, ripe, sweet plums in the mid-palate and in the finish. This is in contention for the best vintage I have tasted from this estate” $45, case $38
