The wines showed very well; the Chardonnay Fort Ross-Seaview Chardonnay was a Californian vibrant cool climate acidity reminiscent of the Old world. But it was riper than those. IMHO, it ranks ion quality with The Ramey single vineyard wines.

The 2016 Woolsey Road Chardonnay was deeper and richer , ande showed more impressive depthIt promised fine rewards to those who wish to cellar it

Both the Russian River Pinot Noir and Sonoma Coast Syrah  displayed the Ramey hallmark of  success on two levels. Both had the finesse and e character of their Old World counterparts, Burgundy and the Rhone, but buttressed by a generous fruit that made the delicious on first sip.

The Cabernets showed the excellence of their 2015 vintage. The Napa Cabernet was silky-smooth and delicious; the reserve-level Annum, the wine of the year, was striking in its intensity  and power.

Most ordered at both tastings were the Sonoma Coast Syrah, the Fort Ross Chardonnay and the Annum Cabernet.

2017 Chardonnay Fort Ross-Seaview

Terrific notes of sautéed orchard fruits, crushed lemons, and white flowers notes all emerge from the glass, and it has a kiss of background oak, bright acidity, and a great finish. It's a balanced, classic Chardonnay from Ramey that will keep for a decade. – JD
