White
2022 Bourgogne Chardonnay St Martin: Like the other whites, natural yeast fermentation, aged in old barrels and vats, natural malolactic fermentation, aged on the fine lees. Color: very pale; Mouth: clean, soft-textured rounded fruit, fine tannins, balanced, good finish; Very Good Plus $35, Case $30
2022 Santenay Les Terrasses de Bievaux
From a higher vineyard with a slope so steep that it had to be terraced. Aged a year in barrel
Guide Hachette "In the glass, a chardonnay with no cosmetics, with flattering scents of ripe yellow fruit, citrus, and menthol, whose subtly toasted savory mouth we love. It offers a tasty compromise between roundness and freshness. It's already very attractive. Starred, a very successful wine" $43, Case $36
2022 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er cru Morgeot
Natural ferments started in vat, then finished in low temperature in barrel fermentation at low temperature. Aged on the fine lees, then lightly fined and filtered
Aroma: deep oak, very ripe fruit, concentrated with good drive soft, herb-inflected fruit; Mouth: soft-textured clean fine acid tannins, mineral, balanced wood and fruit; Excellent $160, Case $136
Red
2022 Maranges
From 50- year-old vines in a vineyard on the border with Santenay, the Girardin Maranges has a clarity and purity far above most others of the appelation that and its value price have made it a customer favorite for four vintages now. The 2022 is no exception. Highly recommended
Color: very dark purple; Aroma: bright, intense, fresh, clean, very concentrated, and forward; Very Good - Excellent $40; Case, $34
2022 Santenay Vieilles Vignes
From three parcels of 50-year-old vines.
"A nose you might describe as "neat and tidy," with pretty dark cherry and raspberry fruit gaining presence as it opens in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied, well-balanced, and elegant, with fine tannins and a piquant finish that tempts you back for another sip. Lovely." Neal Martin Vinous $48, Case $41
2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge 1er cru La Boudriotte
Fifteen months in old and new oak barrel color: very dark red, semi-opaque; Mouth: clean, medium-bodied, finely delineated, dark cherry and plum fruit with an herbal edge, long currant finish, young with years ahead; Excellent $80, Case $68
