This Tuscan red wine from just to the west of Florence blends 70% Sangiovese, 20% Canaiolo Nero and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. A warm, spicy, medium-bodied red that pairs perfectly with wintertime cuisine. This is definitely a wine that makes Italian red wine so popular and so easy to enjoy.

Whether pairing with a Garlic Rosemary Crusted Beef Rib Roast or a Dijon Panko Crusted Rack of Lamb, this is the red wine for you.

Aroma: Blackberry, dried fruits, licorice, forest undergrowth, tobacco. Mouth: Plum, pomegranate, black tea, toasted spice, round mouth coating textures, balanced acidity, good structure, and a long, pleasing finish. Excellent Was $38, Now $32, Case 26.99

2021 Eric & Joël Durand Cornas Empreintes

The Guide Hachette has loved the Durand brothers’ Syrah from Cornas, the southernmost commune of the northern Rhone. Of this vintage, they wrote:

“With the muted color of the vintage, its red is elegant but not very pronounced. Its complex bouquet is charming with delicate scents of hyacinth and peony, embellished with singular notes of smoked tea and bracken. The palate shows round, suave, the imprint of the commune’s singular sweetness with its cherry pit flavors, well supported by pleasant tannins, which, however, tighten a little on the finish. An atypical but already very seductive Cornas.” Was $50, Now $42, Case $36
