This Week Friday, October 2, 2026 Deux Roches A Masterclass in Chardonnay from Burgundy's Maconnais In-store, 5 - 6:30pm   |

Deux Roches, the two rocks Solutré and Vergisson, mark the Maconnais. They are also Collovray and Terrier, two stalwart Maconnais families whose members joined to create the winery and estate.
Federal has featured the wines for over a decade because they consistently show a soft and subtle balance between ripe acidity and generous but not overly ostentatious fruit. We are very pleased to welcome Romain Bourgeois of the winery to conduct the tasting.
Serious winemaking is matched with wit and humor. Deux Roches suggests music pairings, unusual for a winery and worth printing here. Their repertoire runs to jazz and pop. If you run classical, the more basic wines work well with the Chopin piano concerto; the St Veran and Pouillys with something more orchestral, like a Beethoven symphony.
2024 Bourgogne Blanc
A more generous wine from clayey soils. Like the others, it is enriched by several months on the lees – no oak. Nice fruit and mineral balance. Light SO2
