People have been asking about our Best-in-Boston holiday Champagne tasting this year. It will be on Monday, December 2. This year it will be back in the Kennedy Room on the ground floor as in most years past
To provide the best experience, attendance will be limited. You are among our preferred champagne customers, so we are giving you the first chance to reserve. We expect this tasting to fill up very quickly. Last year we turned some people away. This tasting will sell out in advance.
Tables will be widely spaced this year, and we ask that people avoid congregating at them to the degree possible.
The tasting will go from 4:30 to 8:30. While we don't have fixed sessions, we request that you try to arrive as close to 4:30 or 6:30 as possible to have fewer people in the room at one time. We don’t require that anyone leave.
Some of the Wines
This year's tasting will have about 60 selected champagnes from both estates and major houses. They represent what we feel are some of the best and best values on the market today. Supplies of the best champagnes are limited. Some wines might sell out at the tasting, although we will, as usual, have a sale through December.
This year's tasting will be the most exciting yet because of new finds from exciting new growers. We have written about some lately. Excellent wines from Girost, Thomas Perseval, and Lejeune-Dirvang.
Others will come from the finest major houses. We will again feature Roederer and have excellent wines from highly-rated Deutz, Pol Roger, and Bollinger. There will also be especially well-crafted wines from micro-negociants Ployez- Jacquemart and Ployez Jacquemart. We will be featuring a range of chamoagnes from Philipponat, one of the highest rated houses in France
We are also tasting a number of very good value champagnes, which will be available at our best prices.
Some of our favorite estates will be back;. Last year's runaway bestseller, our exclusive Labruyere Prologue Extra Brut, will be featured.
We will include some excellent wines from outside Champagne, featuring Spain's Raventos. and surprising wines from Italy and California.
Reserve
If you want to come to the tasting, we encourage you to respond as soon as possible. It will sell out.
Tickets are $95 per person, applicable to a purchase. The reservation price will be $125 after November 17.
Please supply payment information if we don't have you on file already.
