 We all know New Zealand for its strong-flavored Sauvignon Blanc, which comes from cool, windy Marlborough, but the wines this dinner will come from Wairarapa and Hawke's Bay on its warmer eastern side. They will be from two small organic estates, Te Awanga and Borthwick. While there will be different interpretations of Sauvignon Blanc, there will also be Pinot Noir and Syrahs, and CPR, a unique blend that brings out the strengths of its Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Riesling.

Our old friend, the gregarious Stu Devine, an experienced New Zealand viticulturist, will comment on the wines.

Of course, Chef William Koval's fine cuisine will make it worth the trip by itself.
