2016 Domenico Clerico Barolo Pajana
Pure Fruit That Tastes Like Music
July 28, 2023

The name Domenico Clerico is a legend in Barolo. Starting in 1976, he started instituting changes that fulfilled his vineyard management philosophy and winemaking. He first began to buy plots of the finest vineyards in Monforte d’Alba. He then started bottling these as Cru Barolo. He worked tirelessly in the vineyards to maintain purity of fruit and expression of the land.
The Pajana vineyard is in the center of the Ginestra cru. Because of its particular soil type and elevation, Pajana always gives a powerful and opulent wine that ages extremely well. Domenico is no longer with us. I remember him as a gentle, determined man who made a difference. His are among the best wines I have ever tasted. The 2016 Domenico Clerico Barolo Pajana is simply amazing.
2016 Domenico Clerico Barolo Pajana: Bright ruby. Shows power, richness, and a velvety texture. Cherries, cassis, smoke, spice, blood orange peel, and truffle. Chewy tannins, opulence, and intensity in the very, very long finish. Outstanding 114/bottle

Special six pack: 6 bottles of the above for a special price of $ 582 (97/bottle)
