Maude Autran showed some delightful wines last week. It seemed that everybody loved the white Sablet and thought it great value., as was the Cotes du Rhone
Te red Sablet opened nicely through the tasting.
Of the prearrival wines., The Marine Syrah was shy at first but showed great depth and much promise for the future. The Tenebi Counoise was unique , with a flavor most like a cru Beaujolais, but with more depth.
Finallythe Cuvee Maude Syrah was extraordinary, a southern Rhone rendition with some of the peppery spice of the North.
