BBQ (Wines, too) - August 1st

Tasters were drawn to the bold and the beautiful. In white that was the softly assertive Pilon Viognier with its heady almond notes and zesty acidity. This vintage really hit home, flattering and really the tongue on all fronts.

Consensus at our Wednesday tastings is more absent than present, but if there was one it coalesced around the Talmard Macon-Chardonnay and was that at its price it provided great fruit and a surprising degree of breadth.
