"Wow! Just Gorgeous" - Wine Advocate. More than half-off.

Richard Dinner Vineyard
One of the Wine Advocate's

20 Best 2014 California Chardonnays

Paul Hobbs is one of California's most distinguished winemakers. His wines have great purity while at the same time exhibiting wonderful sensuality in the mouth. He is known for both his Californian and his excellent Argentine wines. His reds are in reat demand and sell out every year.

His whites are regularly rated among the top chardonnays in California. Case in point; this 2014 Chardonnay from the Richard Dinner Vineyard on Sonoma Mountain. It is concentrated, dense, balanced and dry. Its quality jumped out at me in a large group tasting of California whites and reds last fall. Nicely balanced with rich fruit, it has just a touch of well integrated oak underneath.

The Wine Advocate was even more unabashed in its enthusiasm:

"Wow – I just love the intense nose of grapefruit essence and mandarin peels on 2014 Chardonnay Richard Dinner Vineyard with underlying yuzu, baker’s yeast and toasted almond hints. Full-bodied and voluptuously fruited in the mouth, it explodes with citrus intensity, plus it has a seamless backbone of acidity to inject vitality and wonderful length. Just gorgeous." Lisa Perrotti-Brown.

It is well worth its normal $95 price. The Advocate ranked it among the top chardonnays of the 2014 vintage, in such august company as Abreu, Kongsgaard, and Kistler single vineyards. Its imposing structure would not disappoint lovers of fine white burgundy

But Paul Hobbs' white wines have been overlooked in the shadow of his reds. Our distributor had more then they wished for. We took advantage of that, negotiated a great price for all they had. You can also. We are offering what was a $95 wine for $50 and the incredible price of $39.99 when purchased by the case. It is the wine for your most serious dishes this summer and for the next two or three.
