"A Ro(s)e by any other name would smell as sweet"

- Wm Shakespeare

Des Marais

For their yearly gathering the Des Marais family ordered a quantity of Owen Roe's  2014 Yakima Cabernet Sauvignonwith a special Des Marais label; A Fleur de Lys with hop cones at the corners - (several family members grow it.)

For whatever reason, the family cancelled the order. I like to think that it was because of their shock at Uncle Clarence's untimely demise in a butt of malmsey. But that is another play entirely and pure speculation.

So the good folks at Owen Roe had several cases of Famille Des Marais Cabernet Sauvignonand a dilemma. They offered them at a discount to their Massachusetts distributor. He offered it to us.

We had loved and recommended the 2013 Owen Roe Yakima at $51. We got many repeat sales. 2014 is even warmer than the warm 2013 vintage; the fruit darker and richer.

The Bard's words ring true: This Roe not only smells as sweet, it tastes even richer.

Yes, you in the back - you have a question?

No, this is not Fake News.

True, Owen Roe is not on the label, but if you look closely you will see that "Des Marais Wines" is in Wapato, Washington. A bit of research reveals that Owen Roe's spanking new Wapato winery is the only one there making Cabernet Sauvignon.
