2011 Badia a Coltibuono Montebello
Amazing Bottle for a Special Occasion
February 24, 2017
We have told you about this before. This offer is to let you know we were fortunate enough to get a bit more of this rare gem. The 2011 Badia a Cotlibuono Montebello is the first vintage ever of this wine. This is a single vineyard blend of nine different native Tuscan grape varieties in equal parts. This gives us a wine that is both unique and complex, also sophisticated and historic.
Each of the grape varieties gives us something perfectly complimentary to the others. Whether it is color from Colorino, body from Pugnitello or aromatics from Cilegiolo, the realization of this blending concept by Emanuella and Roberto is perfect. Of course there’s some Sangiovese in there as well.
We have a limited amount of this. There is also a chance I can negotiate getting a little more. What we have at the moment is here now.
2011 Badia a Cotlibuono Montebello: Beautiful ruby. Dark cherry, balsam and violets. Great density and texture with spicy notes. Real complexity in the aromatics and flavors framed by balanced structure and depth. Excellent to Superb 64/bottle 175/three pack 326/six pack
