Labruyere Champagne

Labruyere Brut Prologue Grand Cru

Extraordinary Champagne, Ordinary Price

A moderately priced champagne, that Guide Hachette rated as one of the best releases in France last year,  became one of our best sellers last fall, so much so that demand, particularly from those who bought some and came back for more, outstripped our expectations. We have been out of stock for about a month, but have some coming in about two weeks.

Labruyere is an artisanal estate from a single grand cru vineyard in Verzenay, whose grapes used to go into Dom Perignon.  Strict grape selection of its Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, expert wine making (winemaker Nadine Gublin has been France’s Winemaker of the Year in the Revue du Vin de France), and long lees aging  make this an extraordinary champagne and extraordinary value

Guide Hachette wrote:

“. . .  golden color, its effervescence, lively and creamy at the same time, and even more its entrancing nose; seductive, intense, vinous and buttery with nuances of fruit confiture.  Finally, its palate is dense and fleshy, expressing both ripe and dried fruits, given length by a beautiful saline acidity. A superb champagne to accompany a meal.
