Great Deals in 2015 Red Bordeaux and Two Very Fine Provencal Roses

Tasters had a clear favorite among the sextet of very well priced wines from the wonderful 2015 Bordeaux vintage.
March 7, 2018

2015 Ch. Clement Saint-Jean is a simple Medoc, although ranked a cru Bourgeois. Near unanimous opinion held that this Cabernet-based wine punched far above its class. It had extraordinary depth and structure. You can drink it now with decanting or age it for 5 to 7 years. At our prearrival price of 14.99, this is a several case buy for people who like serious Bordeaux, but not its price.

It was the most outstanding example of a strong group of wines. The 2015 St. Emilion, Ch. La Caze Bellevue, was the second most ordered. It showed softer and a bit more broad than the St. Clement. And, again at our pre-arrival price of $15.99, it is a steal for true St. Emilion.

The 2015 Ch. de Ribebon is a more fruit forward wine showing a nice complexity of berry and plum flavors. It likewise drinks now but does have some tannic structure to age for a year or two. Some also liked the Puyanché but it showed lighter and more forward in comparison with the others.

The Fonbadet was rich and complex as advertised and does belong in a serious cellar.

People liked both Ch. Ste. Roseline roses, Most felt that the depth and complexity of the Cotes de Provence Cru Classé  in its frosted bottle was well worth the small premium over the Lampe de Meduse .

Unfortunately we had to conduct the tasting without Margaux Arbo who spent her Wednesday sitting on a plane in New York that never took off for its trip to Boston. We hope to see her here in the future.

Deadline for orders at the pre-arrival prices is this SaturdayWe strongly recommend them.
